Narcotic Detection Canines

Canine Academy Training Center has highly trained canines to detect controlled
substances in a variety of situations. These dogs are trained to alert to
methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine and heroin. Other controlled substances will
be added on request. We train the canines in realistic situations including
vehicles, buildings, open areas and item searches. All canines are trained for
search work before the handler arrives for the two week handler course. The
canines can also be taught tracking if required by purchasing agency. Each
handler must show proficiency with the canine as a team before being certified
as a working team. Handler courses are taught at our facility near Austin TX or

Accelerant Detection Canines

Canine Academy Training Center has highly trained canines to detect substances
used as accelerants in arson fires. These dogs are trained to alert to all
common hydrocarbons that are used to start fires. Using a detection canine will
assist fire investigators to determine the areas of a fire scene where evidence
needs to be collected for laboratory analysis. All canines are trained for
search work before the handler arrives for the two week handler course. Each
handler must show proficiency with the canine as a team before being certified
